At Wade Gordon Academy in Lubbock, Texas subjects are presented through lectures, demonstrations, and student participation. In the classroom we have specialists and regular guest artists that teach theory, cutting, color, special product courses and specialty classes. We employ a sequential set of learning steps to comprehensively prepare our students for state board exams, graduation, and the entry level job environment. Cosmetology Course in Lubbock Overview

Upon completing the Wade Gordon Academy Cosmetology Course Material, graduates will have acquired the skills to:

• Project a sense of personal integrity, a positive attitude, and self-confidence
• Practice proper grooming, effective communication skills, and visual poise
• Understand employer-employee relationships and respect the need to deliver worthy service for value received
• Perform the basic manipulative skills in the areas of hairstyles, hair shaping, hair coloring, texture services, scalp and hair conditioning, skin and makeup, manicures, pedicures, and nail extensions.
• Perform basic analytical skills to determine proper makeup, hairstyles, and color application for the clients overall image
• Apply theory and technical information to a situation, ensuring sound judgements, decisions, and procedures

LUBBOCK CAMPUS

DAY: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 6:30pm, 30 hours a week full time

• There is a 30 minute lunch break.
• Classes start every Monday and Wednesday at the beginning of each two week period.

GRADING PROCEDURES: Our cosmetology course work is composed of written and practical assessments.

• A 70% theory grade average must be maintained for the course.
• There is a final written exam that requires a performance of 70% or better.
• The practical portion is graded as completed and requires a Satisfactory performance for each assessment.
